Privacy

These are small trackers built for one household, not a business collecting data on visitors. Almost everything stored here is about products and listings, not people. Here is the rest of it, plainly.

What’s stored

The OLED tracker keeps products, retailer offers, and a price history entry each time a price actually changes. The SL500 (and retired Datsun) tracker keeps scraped listing data — price, mileage, photos, description, and the city or ZIP a seller posted — plus a small shared shortlist two trusted users keep notes on. All of it comes from public retailer and marketplace pages, or is typed in by the two people who run this. Neither tracker has accounts, sign-in, or a cookie that identifies a visitor. Watching a monitor for a price drop needs no email or name: the alert goes to a private Discord channel, not to you directly.

“Near me”

The Near me button asks your browser for your location using the standard geolocation API built into it. That happens entirely on your device — this site never asks a server to locate you. The coordinates your browser hands back are rounded to two decimal places (about a mile) before anything is done with them, then kept in your browser’s own local storage so the button remembers your choice next time.

To sort or filter listings by distance, those rounded coordinates are sent to the server as part of the page’s own URL (the lat and lon in the address bar when Near me is on). The server uses them to answer that one request and does not save them — there is no table anywhere in either database with a visitor’s location in it. Turning Near me off clears the URL and the saved value in your browser.

Hosting

Like any website, Cloudflare (who serves these pages) sees the IP address of whoever requests them, in order to deliver the response. Neither tracker’s own code reads, logs, or stores that address for anything.

Selling and sharing

We don’t sell or share any of this with anyone.
